This bathroom was so small that you could almost hit your knees on the door when the door was closed. Its was dark and cramped. We had to do something!

You can see from above picture how low the ceiling was. The photo on the right shows that someone many years ago painted the floors. The home was built in 1893! Orginally this room was another configured bathroom and before that a butler’s pantry.
To add some much needed light and make the room seem larger we added a transom window. Luckily we had an old window that fit the space perfectly.
There was nothing wrong with the old sink. We took it off the cabinet and made a floating wood cabinet out of some old wood. I love how the distressed looks with the white painted panel walls. Our version of shiplap!
Adding a bit of whimsy and fun is always a good idea. Hand me some toilet paper! I could not help myself.
We added wood flooring to match the rest of the house. Added paneling and painted it white…our version of shiplap.
