I confess I love fall. I love how the sun and sky are different. I love the crispness of the leaves underfoot. The cool fall days, layers of clothing and a great scarf!
Fall also means Thanksgiving, turkey, and family. I enjoy setting a table and putting together some type of menu. After all sitting down and breaking bread is something we all should be thankful for.
Just a cute little post about simple thanksgiving table options. I want to share some of my own place card holder ideas and some of the best I have seen on Pinterest and the web. Pick one you like, get inspired and get creative!
Take a walk and gather leaves along the way. Iron the leaves with some wax paper.
Hit the dollar store for frames and stick snapshots of guests inside,
Facebook is great for this!
Customizable Napkin Holders
For a simple and inexpensive option, try these place cards printed on card stock.
“Loop wire around a bottle to form a card holder, then pop in a mini-bouquet,” says stylist Leanne Ford.
Grass From the Garden
Check out what nature has to offer. Grasses from the garden.
For major woodland charm, stylist Elizabeth Demos suggests tying a tag to a bundle of twigs.
I really like using this chalk. It can be used on anything and wiped off. Here I purchased a $3.99 pear from a home goods store.
Chalk Board Square
Use a simple wood square. Paint it or make it reusable with chalk board paint.
An Apple A Day
Any fruit will do. Cut a small slit and slip in a name tag.
Keep those Corks
Save your corks! They can be used for so many things!
Here I cut the bottom off so the cork can stand on it’s own.
The scrabble idea has been around for along time. I still love using it. Put some extra pieces in a bowl at each place setting and have a mini scrabble game.
Have each guest write down something they are thankful for. Leads to great dinner table discussions!
We are blessed in so many ways!
Happy Thanksgiving Friends!!
